Air mattress
There are times when it is simply not possible to have a regular mattress available. If you have decided to move to a new city or are waiting for your furniture to be delivered to a new house, your mattress may be in transit and may not be available. In these cases, you may have to spend a series of nights on an air mattress until your permanent bed arrives.
When buying an air mattress for this type of temporary use, keep these considerations in mind:
Availability: to work in case of trouble, an air bed must be available. This means that it is available in a store or for a quick shipment on time that you can use during the interim period while waiting for your regular bed.
Comfort: make sure your alternate mattress offers enough comfort for you to rest. If you are moving, you have enough in your mind. You do not need to be deprived of sleep or wake up with aches and pains.
Convenient pump: when you sleep on an air mattress for several days or more, it is normal to lose some air. You may have to complete the air every night before bed, so a pump that facilitates this (such as a built-in pump) can be extremely useful.
Size and height: if there is space to fit in the room where you will use it, a larger air bed and a higher one can add physical and mental comfort. The difference between getting up on a twin-sized bed a few inches off the ground and a queen more than a foot tall can drastically change the way you perceive this temporary sleep situation and, therefore, your state of mind.
